20 years ago I purchased one of these for the love of my life. Things don't always work out the way you hope and we went our separate ways. I was given it back and it was ruined in a fit of grief days later. Now we have reconnected and when she mentioned the rose there was a wistful look in her eye. So I went searching to find one just like the original. This rose is it. Even made by the same company with the same red box with a black label. When I pulled it out of the box it brought tears to my eyes. I never realized how powerful a symbol it had become. This seller has made me extremely happy, and when she opens her gift I know the effect it will have on her.About the product itself... don't be fooled by the one bad review on this. This product is exactly as represented. I wanted the same company because I knew what I would be getting. This is a quality gold dipped rose, and it in no way "feels like cheap plastic". This feels true and solid. But even under that solid feel you get the sense of the delicateness of the rose. The company that makes this takes great care to make sure that the rose is posed perfectly before it is dipped, four petals spread out to frame the barely opened bud. The sepals are spread wide to catch light and reflect it back up to the petals. And the leaves are carefully positioned so they maintain a lifelike position. This is simply the best gold rose out there. It balances the delicateness of the flower with being a product that is built to stand the test of time (barring grief stricken fools). I rarely give out five star reviews because with just about any product I find a fault. With this there isn't a single one.Gentlemen, trust me when I say this, if you want to present something that tells her what you feel, this rose is it. You will stun her with it, she will be speechless, and she will shed a happy tear.

I wasn't sure if this gift was going to bomb or not, my wife isn't really into gold at all, she usually wrinkles her nose at gold and favors silver, white gold, etc. So I was a little disappointed that there weren't any roses dipped in white gold or anything, but took the plunge on this product. When my wife opened her gift on Valentine's Day, all she could do was gasp, and then gasp again. She was literally speechless. I don't often get to see her like that, so that was a really rare moment, let me just say. The rose itself looks great and perfectly perserved. However, be prepared to see some irregularities as is the norm with regular roses, like maybe a wayward leaf sticking out or whatever, it's still beautiful. And some places are thick where the laquer dried prior to dipping into gold, like where the stem and leaves meet, and the insides of the rose petals themselves, not so thick that you notice, but thick at the bottom of the inside petals, so you'll see that when you look down into the petals. Other than that, the rose is perfection.

I originally planned on a bouquet of flowers until I saw this. While it looked nice based on the picture, one never knows the true quality of an item until you can touch it. Although the mail system dented the box, the Rose was untouched and I must say the picture didn't do it justice. Was a wonderful gift to present out of the box!

I got this as a Mother's Day gift for my Mom. I had bought a similar product for my wife and wanted something unique that would last longer than the typical Mothers Day bouquet. I also knew that there are high quality and not-so-good versions of this product and wanted to make sure this was the well made version. If you are looking, this is the good one. The rose is covered in a solid even and smooth coat of gold from to top to bottom. It is fairly solid to the touch, I would not torque or test its durability, but it feels fairly solid to the touch versus feeling fragile. This is a quality product and the price is similar to what I paid for the other that I bought. If you see one much cheaper than $75-$80, you had better read the reviews and description carefully.
