Another Version of The Grinch
I did enjoy this book, especially the adorable illustrations. The rhyming story tells of the Cookie Sprinkle Snitcher and how he selfishly steals everyone’s sprinkles that they need to top their Christmas cookies with. A little boy named Nat saves the day by hunting down the Snitcher and showing him the error of his ways and convincing him to bring the sprinkles back to the mom’s for their cookies. If I hadn’t grown up reading, watching, and loving The Grinch, I would have appreciated this story more. While The Grinch saw that the people of Whoville had love amongst each other and didn’t need gifts to celebrate Christmas, The Snitcher is just told that he has spoiled everyone’s fun and shown how he was greedy. It doesn’t quite have the same impact as The Grinch. I do think it’s a book worth owning and reading especially to little ones who might understand the lesson in greed a bit better in this simpler story.

My search is over!
I have been looking for this book at a reasonable price for years! I gave up a few years ago and just recently thought to look again and was thrilled to find it! When my daughter (who is now 50!) was in 2nd grade, I was the "Story Lady" and wentin once a week and read stories to her class. This book was one of them and I did purchase a copy at the time. Over theyears it disappeared. My daughter and I talked about it many times and finally I have fulfilled a long time wish of both ofours. Nostalgia is a funny and individual thing. Some people couldn't figure out why we wanted this book, but we knew andthat is what counted. It has a lot to say about the true spirit of Christmas and something as simple as missing cookie sprinkles can affect the hearts of an entire town. It is something a small child can understand until they are old enough to look at the "big picture" of the true meaning of Christmas.

Most fun we have had reading a Christmas book
I stumbled upon this book while reading a book blog and was so happy to see it here on Amazon. This is such a fun book to read. Quite a bit of the story is in rhyme. The illustrations are awesome. Looks like the illustrator did looks of work for Disney and the book shows off his illustrations. The book is about all the children and parents in this village who fall asleep and when they awake, all the mothers are getting ready to bake their Christmas cookies. But while they were sleeping the Sprinkle snitcher stole all the sprinkles. One little boy named Nate decides it is up to him to track down this snitch and find all the sprinkles. Because after all, what kind of Christmas cookie is one without sprinkles?I can't believe I had never read this book before. My five year old and I loved it and I will read it every year and hope to share it with other children while substitute teaching for the holidays. Young and old will enjoy this book.

Adorable book!!
I had a copy when I was a kid in the 80’s and my mother read it every year at Christmas. When she lost it with some of her old teaching supplies, we were so sad. Then one day I tried hunting online and discovered it again. Now Mom’s reading it to her grandkids.

A Favourite In Our Family
This is a great Christmas book. It’s about the Sprinkle Snitcher who steals the town’s cookie sprinkles. When everyone tries to make their cookies, they realize there are no sprinkles to be found and they’re very upset. A little boy goes on the hunt for the Snitcher and convinces him to return the sprinkles. The book rhymes and flows quite well. It’s a pleasure to read and my children love it.
