Super Comfortable Shave
Short story - The defining characteristic of this razor in my book is hands down the comfort. It is not the fastest shave ever, but it is extremely comfortable. I would recommend it due to how comfortable the shave is.Longer Story - I've long been in the market for the perfect razor. I did the whole mach 3,4,5,6,7 etc. thing and had pretty bad razorburn with that route. I switched to double edge razors about 2 years ago and liked it better than the multiple blade setup - had less razorburn, but did end up with a good amount of nicks. I saw this razor and thought I would give it a try.Just for some reference I think it is important to understand what kind of shaver I am so you can compare with your various situations. First - I have medium thickness facial hair around my mouth and nose in the goatee area, but little facial hair on my sideburns and neck compared to a lot of guys. Second - my goal when I shave is to remove hair from my face as quickly and painlessly as possible (I know there are some out there who view shaving as a relaxing/luxurious experience - more power to you, but that's not my MO - I just want the hair off my face). How does this razor feel on your face? This razor almost feels like it hovers off your face and the blade doesn't really actually touch your skin. The results are a shave that is not quite as close as a double edge razor with one pass, but is far less irritating than a double edge razor. I've found that to get a shave as close as I get with my double edge razor, I have to do an extra pass pretty much everywhere. But, I've also found that I can make a decent amount of passes (3 in my case) with very little irritation and far fewer if any nicks at all. One other item of note is that the head of this razor is kind of bulky, so getting into tight spots like under your nose can be a challenge - like with many other razors. In summary, the shave is slower with this razor, but SIGNIFICANTLY more comfortable. For me, I'll shave for a minute or two longer if it means very little to no razorburn or nicks. Comfort is top priority for me, so I'll sacrifice a little time. For those who love the experience of shaving, I bet you'll love this razor. For the rest of us, this razor is still a great option in terms of comfort - just be prepared to spend time on one extra pass.UPDATE: I am blown away by the comfort of this razor. I have shaved with it for about a month now. The last few times I have shaved, I have done so like I did when I was 14 years old - really fast and recklessly. No cuts. It's nuts. It still does take a little longer because of the one extra pass - but it is crazy comfortable with no cuts and no razorburn unless you are doing something totally wrong. Will be my go-to razor for year to come. Only reason for four stars is just that it takes a little extra time.

Great Introductory Razor
After getting bombarded by targeted ads for double edged safety razors I began to take a look at what was available. They all touted the same things for the most part: less nicks/cuts, cheaper blades, and a better shave. For someone new to the concept of DE safety razors there was a lot to sift through especially considering there appear to be some very nice but very pricey products out there and a bevy of knockoffs in between. The OneBlade Core stood out though for many reasons. It’s priced competitively at $20 (including 10 blades and a stand), it has a a quality build, and it has a single edged design that I felt would make it pretty easy to shave with. At the price it doesn’t break the bank and in looking to get away from the Gillette’s/Schick’s etc it’s a decent investment.I had some concern with the blades as it only accepts a specific blade by Feather which many reviews mentioned might be a bit much for a newcomer and not offering the selection any other double edged razor would allow for. However this was pretty unfounded. Sure I did nick myself a few times on the first shave but after learning how best to use the angle of the head and the weight of the handle those nicks and irritations (the latter of which I thought I’d never be rid of regardless of brand) have disappeared. The build as I mentioned is of a good quality. The handle is metal with a good weighty feel. The head is plastic which at first one may think is cheap, especially compared to other razors on the market, but it very well designed creating a desired angle to work with the blade. The blade itself is easy to insert and remove from the head. All in all I’m very happy and would recommend this blade to anyone looking for a new razor whether they are a fan of DE razors or looking for an alternative to the mainstream designs. I would also highly recommend this as a gift, I’m planning to get one for my father, and again at $20 it’s priced right. I did see that they do offer pricier models on their website that are all metal from $99 (which isn’t bad considering some of the competition and again could make for a great gift) and well upwards of several hundred but I think the Core itself is an amazing product however you choose to go about your shaving.

Still learning my way around this one
I would recommend this for people who want a similar feel to a cartridge razor in a single blade unit. I absolutely solute manufacturers who are creating less wasteful alternatives to cartridge razors. This razor is surprisingly gentle and a good starting point for someone not used to a single blade razor. I hope I can get used to it and it continues to function for a long time. Three criticisms that are not linked to my lack of time with the razor- the head is quite large so it doesn’t do well in tight areas while shaving around a beard (under nose, near ears, etc.). I expected a little nicer finish, it was made to hit a price point (and probably in much lower quantities than the big guys) so that’s probably to be expected. I’m not crazy about the weighting, it’s a plastic razor I expect it to be lighter than a steel one, and seems out of balance as the head has virtually no weight at all.

Disappointed in this
I bought this on a great sale price looking forward to my first single-edge razor, and my overall experience is that I'm disappointed. It's a fine, mild razor that offers a somewhat smooth shave (I found it very hard to come close to getting any irritation and never once came close to getting a weeper or getting nicked). However, the head is bulky and requires that I keep a 2nd razor (old cartridge razor) handy to shave under my lip. Another con is that the Feather blades (which are pricey and the only blade that can be used with this razor) only offer me 2 comfortable shaves. Any other double-egde razor/blade I use gives me 5 comfortable shaves. Bottom line: I would never use this as my daily razor, and if I lost this razor I wouldn't be sad about it. I get much smoother shaves from other razors/blades. I would not buy this again and do not recommend it.
