Strong, well-built, lightweight, great features.
When I first ordered these, I was not sure what I would get, but for the price, I was willing to give them a try. I got them in yesterday, and my First Impressions put my concerns to rest rather quickly. I initially thought about carbon, but as a big guy (230#) I am leery of carbon's history of breaking, so I decided on aluminum. These are stout trekking poles for sure, but still lightweight. At just 9.1oz (259g) they are only an ounce heavier than some of the carbon poles I looked at, but the carbons were twice the price. As a comparison, the Leki Cristallo DSS at $140 is 255g.My next concern in picking a trekking pole is the locking mechanisms. Again, at my weight, weak locks will cause creep and eventually fail - but after I adjusted them, they seem to lock solid, even after I put all my weight onto one pole, it did not move.I'm not a fan of the strap locking mechanism; however, this type is standard on most trekking poles. It's not my favorite as these will typically will let the strap work itself loose. It would also be nice if the tips were replaceable as they tend to wear out over time. But these items are trivial at this price point. Some nice features: The indexing on both sections makes getting the lengths the same very easy. The rubber nut on the locks makes adjusting the tension a breeze. The baskets and feet accessories are great for a verity of different terrains. The padding on the straps and extended foam under the grips are also a nice touch. In conclusion: These are a solid well built set of trekking poles for the price. They should be great for anyone of average height and hold up to a decent amount of use by kids or adults. And let's not forget, that they stand behind their pols with a 13 months warranty - yup a year and a month, totally unheard of in this price point.

Amended: Won't last 13 months
I have been hiking on a weekly basis for the past three years usually 7 – 10 miles per hike. The terrain is usually inclines / declines rock, mud, and stream crossings. A significant number of people in my group use trekking poles during our hikes and they frequently seem less fatigued after the hike than me.I finally decided to give trekking poles a try; I am 6’ and 220 lbs. so I decided to get the aluminum poles. After looking at many poles I decided to get the Nianyiso poles. The price point, flip locks, and warranty seemed to make this the best choice. After three months of use I decided to write a review. The poles themselves seem to be very sturdy. I have used the poles for balance, as an emergency brake, and as a lift assist during portions of the hike. There has been no bending or curving of the poles. The flip locks have worked well but I have adjusted them only four times. I have never collapsed after or during a hike. The rubber tips lasted two hikes and had to be replaced. I like to use the rubber tips because it helps the poles from getting stuck in the rocks. The major issue I have with these poles is the cork grip. After three months the grips are crumbling. Therefore the poles probably won’t last the 13 months that they are warrantied for.To end on a positive note; I am less fatigued at the end of the hike and have lost weight. Amended 2020.01.03 **** - * I was correct in stating the poles wouldn't last 13 months. I originally thought the handgrips would fail but it was the pole itself that failed. While hiking down a slope the pole bent which caused me to fall. Fortunately only my pride was hurt. This item has exceeded the Amazon warranty period but is well within the Nainyiso warranty period. I've been trying to reach customer service without success, even Amazon does not an answer! 114-9153123-8105008 / 2019.08.23

An inexpensive option for beginner hikers
These trekking poles are a good starter set for new hikers. These poles are adjustable to allow for a varying range of users, they come with multiple foot accessories for different types of terrain(picture). and are inexpensive. These poles have a nice finished look to them, they come with a carrying bag, and were undamaged during shipment(a plus). However, My first impression tells me I might have future issues with the plastic clasps that are used to adjust the height of the poles(picture), and how the cork grip will wear over time(picture). These trekking poles will be used during a backpacking trip in two weeks, I will provide an update concerning how they performed.

Great for older folks walking around the neighborhood and visiting Parks
I was pretty impressed at how great a value these poles are. They're built quite well, and are sturdier than a z-pole. To top it off, they come with a great assortment of accessories, including a few different boots that would be great for older folks who are walking around.Especially since you get two in a set, these would be great for an older couple or two friends who want to take walks together. Finally, there two sets of snow boots that can be used in winter time. I think that's a great option that usually costs about $20 from most outdoor vendors.

Fine for me
I've only used these for a couple hikes, but so far they are holding up fine.they feel sturdy and held with balance on uneven ground and crossing dowed trees. They should hold up for many miles

Sturdy for a big guy
I like them. I will say that I thought that they would collapse smaller than they do...but they seem sturdy and I’m a big guy! I’ve tried them in different surfaces and they hold up!

Good Quality for the Price
Just got back from the Smokey Mountains. We did not have walking sticks and some of the trails at elevation where wet and icy. Cursed myself for not getting a set of these. We used sticks we found along the trail. Really for recreational use all you need are some decently lightweight poles with not slip grips. Don't overthink this. These work.

Comfortable
When I ordered them I did not know what to expect but when I received them I was pleased. We finally had a decent day without snow so we took them on our hike. Poles are sturdy with comfortable cork handles. They are easily and quickly adjustable to different heights(I was worried about that part when I ordered them since I am only 5'2). I would say they are worthed.
