- Our Biodegradable Glitter is made from plant cellulose, which is derived from renewable raw materials, responsibly and environmentally sourced. It is non toxic and approved for cosmetic use. Our glitter is not tested on animals and contains plant derived materials and no animal derivatives so it is Vegan Friendly.
- Our Biodegradable Glitter will only begin to biodegrade where micro-organisms are present such as in soil, compost, waste water and ocean environments. As long as it is stored in a dry dark, cool environment, out of direct sunlight, away from direct heat sources and not exposed to microorganisms it will have an indefinite shelf life.
- Biodegradable Glitter requires the presence of microorganisms to degrade. Warm and wet conditions are ideal, in the correct conditions the rate of degradation is determined by what size the glitter is and what condition it finds itself in. The glitter will biodegrade in oceans, soil and compost. It occurs over a period of several months. It is designed to break down in sewage systems where micro organisms are present so very little, if any will reach the oceans.
- Biodegradable Glitter has the same precision cut and highly reflective properties as polyester (PET) glitter however, it is much softer.
