I have two other Woodstock wind chimes that I enjoy, but wanted something a little different. I had these more subtle, lower-toned chimes on my wish list for a long time and finally bought them (both the 40 inch and 24 inch). Note that they are very heavy duty, and I needed a heavy iron hanger hook for the 40 inch chime. At first I must confess that I was disappointed because even in a heavy breeze they would not chime very much. However, after a few weeks they were both chiming regularly in only a moderate breeze. Oddly, these seem to have a “breaking in” period. Also note that they are very subtle, and you may want to use these to supplement some louder and more traditional chimes around your yard. Overall, I am now happy with my new Heroic Windbell wind chimes and recommend them.

I received and put this up yesterday on my backyard gazebo. I hung it in an exposed-to-the-wind spot (my yard is on a hill so we regularly get some wind coming up the hill from the southwest). I was worried that it might rarely sound based on some of the 1-star reviews that are here, but.... I am guessing this is somehow operator error? Or wierd expectations from people who want this giant bell to go BONG BONG BONG BONG constantly... but who on earth would want that? It's huge and deep and when it sounds it resonates for a while after the initial strike, like a temple bell. Feels like that needs to NOT be striking constantly.... I am writing this in the gazebo right now, and according to my weather station on my roof the wind presently is 3.6 mph with 4.5 mph gusts, and I have heard it multiple times so far today. Ah, there it goes again! Very pleased.

This is the most beautiful chime. The depth is fantastic. Don't buy those cheap ones on Temu, they are crap.

This is one of the coolest things I have ever bought through Amazon. I read so many reviews on other chimes that I kept upgrading my choice. Still, I worried this might not be as good as it looked. Then the extra large box arrived, very heavy, very exciting! It's very big, which is as I hoped. The sound is deep and resonant. I moved an older, smaller chime from this spot next to my back door. That one always caught a breeze so I figured it was a good chance for this large chime to also catch the breeze. And it does! It is so cool to hear it while I am cooking in the kitchen, a deep, calm sound that seems farther off than it is. I love the whole thing and am so relieved that it is as impressive and beautiful as it is. Looks like it will last multiple generations.

These are really awesome and the sound is magnificent. Unfortunately my last purchase of the large one the ‘paddle’ wasn’t tied on and we haven’t been able to make it stay on the cord with any knot we tie. Frustrating to say the least! All the others I’ve purchased (5 I believe) the paddle has been tied on and has stayed put. IMO if you receive one without the paddle securely tied return for a replacement as they are too expensive for the frustration. I waited too long to open and see the problem for a return/replacement to be possible.
