Greasy scalp? Go clear!
My scalp naturally produces a lot of grease probably due to the fact that I run hot so my head sweats a lot (cute, I know). I, like a lot of people, try to wash my hair every other day. But due to my sweaty head at night and a tendency to run my fingers through my hair during the day ya girl can barely make it through a full 24 hours without my hair starting to look gross.Enter CLEAR SHAMPOO! My hairdresser suggested I switch to one a few years back as clear shampoo really works to clean the scalp of any built up residue from hair products. It's a difference that you can definitely notice if you're used to creamy shampoos. I mean honestly you really feel like you're doing something lathering this clear minty shampoo into your hair versus the creamy that yeah it gets super sudsy but that doesnt mean its really cleaning anything (and if you have naturally greasy hair cream shampoos are actually leaving more oils on your scalp that you don't need!!!).Over the years I've used everything from the inexpensive OGX to pricey Bumble & Bumble and I can honestly say this John Frieda Smooth Seas duo is my favorite by far! The shampoo gets your scalp really clean and then the conditioner easily detangles my fine hair so I'm not wrestling with a hair brush for 20 minutes after my shower. Plus both smell absolutely amazing and it's a smell that lingers ever so slightly once your hair is dry and not in an overpowering way whatsoever. If I had to pick a comparison of higher end products I would say this duo is the closest, cost-effective version of using BB Seaweed shampoo with a Redken conditioner. But this is just based off of my hair type and personal preferences, everyone's hair is different and needs different types of products to thrive.

Fresh from the beach!
While visiting my daughter, I asked for her hair dryer and she recommended the John Frieda Beach Blonde Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray instead. I would say that I have a lot of body in my hair, not that it is curly. The Beach Blonde Sea Waves brought out the waves in my hair. I never knew it could look so good! I have since had it cut (layered) in a way that makes the most out of the "fresh from the beach" look. It is so much easier to spritz it on my towel-dried hair and scrunch in the waves. Unlike other gels that leave your hair stiff and crunchy, Beach Blonde Sea Waves dries leaving my hair soft to the touch. It's truly is a beach-blown look and every time I use it, my hair turns out differently. I receive many compliments from people who like my new look.I have also used it when my hair is dry, to freshen up the look at the end of a work day if I'm going out that night. It's amazing how it perks my hair up without the stiffness of hair spray. Sometimes, just running my wet hands through my hair will work without additional spray.I have placed this on my Amazon auto-ship list. I don't ever want to be without it!

Great! Just wish it came in a bigger size.
I never tried this stuff back in the day, but I did have the original Beach Blonde shampoo, which I absolutely loved. So I was super stoked to see that they brought back this line! I decided to try the conditioner, and I was not disappointed. The scent is very refreshing, and if you leave the conditioner on your hair for a few minutes, it provides an icy cool tingling sensation to your scalp, which feels really nice. My hair isn't naturally blonde, but I really think this can be used by any hair type. My hair is thick, porous, and coarse, and this stuff just sinks right into my strands, which I love. I didn't buy this for the detangling properties, but the detangling aspect works well. No tangles when I'm blowdrying my chest-length hair. Also, no matter how many hair products I use after I get out of the shower (and I use SEVERAL), the scent of this conditioner stays in my hair for days!

Yeah, Im a dude and I use it
So yes I am a guy with short to medium hair. I love this product. I had been looking for gels, pomades, and other hair products to help create volume, and by far this product has worked the best. I have used hairspray, crew fiber, go2be glue, but they were all either too shiny, to greasy or to sticky. This is the perfect product for almost every day wear. When I need my hair to hold I will apply the sea salt, wait for it to air dry then apply a holding product (mostly pomade). By the end of the day I had greasy hair and this seems to control that as well; I like the matte finish look. This is my first time using sea salt and I think I’m staying with this brand since it’s affordable. A downside to me it that it will make waves in your hair, but no points deducted since it’s literally in the name. Oh, and the name kinda sucks. I feel like it’s not meant for guys that live in the country with brown hair (I was kinda embarrassed for my 10 year old daughter to see me wearing this, because of the name). Anyways, I do recommend.

Looove this product for my beach waves
This hair product smells great and doesn't leave your hair heavy or sticky. I spray it in my hair after towel-drying. Then I use foam curlers on hair sections, then blow dry with a blow dryer connected to a hair bonnet. Finally, I apply John Frieda hairspray BEFORE removing the curlers. Then take a pick (not a regular comb) to pick apart the curls. Gives you a phenomenal beach wave.

Not what I remember it being
When this originally came out over a decade ago, I loved it. It smelled amazing and gave texture without removing shine. This new formula gives texture, but it also makes the hair look matte to the point of dull. There’s also an edge of cigarette smoke smell to the coconut which doesn’t seem right. This was functional, but I don’t care for the odor or finish. I’ll use this bottle up but won’t be repurchasing.
