Great resources
As a frequent seller at book events, writers' workshops, and poetry nights, I've found the Square Terminal to be an invaluable tool. It's transformed my payment process to a streamlined, professional experience, enabling me to take card payments at any venue. The integrated printer and card reader eliminate the need for multiple devices. This is crucial in the often cramped and hectic environments of events. The Square Terminal has consistently maintained a stable connection though I have struggled to connect it to WiFi on one occasion but this may have been user error! Even when internet is completely unavailable, the Square terminal will still take card payments, and process them when internet is restored. This has saved me at a few remote poetry nights. The touchscreen is intuitive and easy to navigate, even for those unfamiliar with POS systems. This translates to quick transactions and the sleek design of the Terminal adds a touch of professionalism to my setup. The terminal accepts chip cards, contactless payments, and even manually entered card details. This is especially important at events where attendees may have varying payment preferences!Even when internet is completely unavailable, the Square terminal will still take card payments, and process them when internet is restored. This has saved me at a few remote poetry nights. For extremely long events, or events with very high volume, keeping the device plugged in is recommended. While the battery is robust, very long events will require charging. While the initial cost may be a consideration, the long-term benefits make it a worthwhile investment for any author, workshop leader, or event organizer. I highly recommend it.

Is the Square Terminal worth it ?
Let's be honest, running a small business is a juggling act. You're a marketer, accountant, janitor, and salesperson all rolled into one. The last thing you need is a clunky POS system adding to the chaos. That's where the Square Terminal steps in, promising a streamlined, modern solution for accepting payments. Think of it as a stylish, pocket-sized command center for your transactions. Its compact design is a real boon, particularly for businesses operating in tight spaces – imagine a bustling café or a charming boutique. It's not just pretty, though; this little powerhouse handles a whole host of payment methods with aplomb. Chip cards? No problem. Contactless payments like Apple Pay? Piece of cake. Even those old-school magnetic stripe cards? Yep, it's got you covered. The built-in receipt printer is a lifesaver, eliminating the need for extra equipment, and the battery life is surprisingly robust – perfect for those mobile vendors who are always on the go. Setting it up is a breeze; the interface is intuitive enough that even your grandma could probably figure it out. What really sets the Square Terminal apart, however, is its seamless integration with the wider Square ecosystem. Think of it as a digital hub connecting all your business's vital functions. You get access to detailed analytics – a treasure trove of data that can help you understand your customer base and make smart decisions about your inventory. It's like having a business consultant whispering helpful insights in your ear.Its reliance on a stable internet connection could be a deal-breaker for businesses operating in areas with spotty service. Think of it as a finely tuned sports car that needs premium fuel to perform at its best.In a nutshell, the Square Terminal is a stylish and functional POS system that’s a strong contender for many businesses. It's user-friendly, versatile, and integrates brilliantly with other Square services. But before you jump in, carefully weigh the transaction fees and internet dependency against your specific needs and location. It's not a one-size-fits-all solution, but for the right business, it could be a game-changer.

Happy with my new card terminal. It has a great design and user friendly. The menus are easy to navigate in, also once charged it will last a long time so can be left anywhere in the office for amquick use if needed.

Square are nightmare fuel - Go with another provider
Square Customer service is not given the tools required to do their job. I spent many many hours over the last 5 days on the phone trying to get verified for taking payments with their buggy website not verifying me and their automated email process not working. No email, customer service or website was giving feedback as to what could be the issue. Square asked me to upload pictures of my ID daily for them just to decline it the next day, not tell me what the issue was then request I resubmit documents; after resubmitting each time I have to wait another 2 business days for a response! If you do some digging you'll find loads of people with similar stories to mine that for no reason at all cannot be verified by square. They gave no help and no customer feedback in any way. I spent days feeling helpless and was forced to be unable to open because squares failings which has lost me business and given me intense stress and anxiety. After days on the phone with their uninformed customer service I will be returning the terminal and going with another company.I can't even put into words the amount of time, stress and energy this company has demanded from me. They have been infuriating to deal with; save yourself a lot of hassle and pain and go with another company. I recommend dojo or sum up.

Great tool for small businesses
I purchased this for a dance school to make it more convenient for people to be able to purchase used clothes or things from the snack bar, enter competitions without actually having to need to transfer money by bank or pass cash over and even meant people could enter on the day without having to pre-enter because we could accept the Payment there and then. You do need to make sure that you connect the device otherwise risk losing the payment but it all seemed to work really well for us with very minimal cost. Was very easy to set up and use.
