Works great on my P-85.
I did not want to buy the 3-pedal unit Yamaha offers for the P-85, because it requires the Yamaha wooden stand, and I already have a highly adjustable and sturdy metal stage stand I like. Also, I read a lot of complaints about the height and feel of those pedals. This pedal unit is a great third-party alternative.I bought my unit “used/acceptable” from amazon for a substantial discount. The unit arrived with the pins on the plug bent so badly I couldn't insert it into my keyboard, but I carefully straightened everything with a small screwdriver, and it was all good. The housing is substantial and appears to be 1/2" MDF or particle-board, covered by black laminate, with four rubber feet. The actual pedals are stamped heavy-gauge metal, but they are plenty sturdy. The single Yamaha FC3 sustain pedal I'm replacing is stamped metal too, but with a plastic housing and much lighter action. The action of these pedals is as good as – or better – than most acoustic pianos. Also more quiet. The moving parts are well-padded with felt. The pedal height is very comfortable. I bought a carpeted rubber doormat with a raised design so the pedal unit's feet nestle in it, and it doesn't slide at all when I play. The soft-pedal function on most of the P-85 sounds is either so subtle I can’t hear it, or the effect simply isn’t built into those particular samples. So that's not the fault of this pedal unit. The two samples the soft pedal works noticeably well on are Grand Piano 2 — pretty much sounds and functions like it would on an acoustic piano — and Vibraphone. I usually use Grand Piano 2 when I play anyway, so that’s works out well for me.On the P-85, the sostenuto pedal (middle) sustains any keys already pressed – not just bass keys, as on some acoustics. The sustain pedal works as expected.Overall, I'm really pleased. This really makes my P-85 feel and sound more like an acoustic grand, and I’m enjoying it so much more.

Much better than the pedal Yamaha put in the P115 stand
My wife owns and loves her Yamaha P115. We bought it together with Yamaha's own wooden stand with their three pedal unit built into it. From the beginning liked the stand but she did not really like the three pedal unit that came with it. The plastic pedals never felt right to her feet and after a while they became annoyingly squeaky. Whever she played upstairs with heaphones on, ik could hear the squeaking downstairs. Thus annoying even to me. This pedal is much better! Solidly built with nicely dampened metal pedals. The pedals feel right to my wife and are, in her opinion, much more responsive. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the original wooden stand for the P115 has to be modified a bit to prevent the unit from moving (nothing a handy person can't fix). If you don't use that stand, it is 5 stars.

It works well! The pedals are thick metal. The unit is sturdy and has a nice weight to it.

Good but not perfect
We recently upgraded our pedal setup to keep up with piano lessons. The pedals do work as advertised and they do feel like the pedals on a regular piano. They have one significant flaw. On our tile floor, the pedals move. So you will want to have a plan to keep them in place.
