The filter is easy to install and is doing a good job. I especially like that it’s easy to unscrew and clean out. And with the clear tube you can see when it’s time to do that. My photo is a little deceiving; it makes it look like the filter is full of sand – it’s not. But the sand was definitely lining the walls. Great value for the money.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I purchased this for my washing machine because our cold water keeps clogging up built in filter because of red clay or rust in our system. Once I installed it by connecting the female end to the back of the washing machine (which is male) And the water hose from wall(female) to the other side of the filter (male). At that point I notice a directional arrow pointing toward the water side not the washer. Meaning my flow is backwards. It may still filter this way but now I’ve got to see if I can unscrew the ends and switch them around. If so it will work. Just giving anyone a heads up that it is directional. Male side is output, female side is input. On the one I received anyway…

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The filter screen does not actually seal inside the housing making this useless. I added a giant beed of silicone sealant to resolve that issue and installed it. 1 month later this thing exploded (not from the part I glued). I am extreemly lucky to have discovered the resulting water jet in less than an hour but in that time it made a huge mess in my garden and wasted tons of water.

had to crank the clear plastic filter cover on to keep it from leaking but has been working great so far.

Filter was what I was looking for but the housing doesn’t seal super well unless you get it very tight. And the filter inside is super cheap. I’m worried too much cleaning and it will tear.

Works as it should.
