Excellent quality
I used this to make Mont Blanc. Boil 2cups of water, 1cup of sugar and 1 vanilla bean scrapped and cut until it reduces to 3/4 cup. Beat the chestnut purée until it’s smooth. Slowly add the cooled water and whip in 4tbsp soft butter. Pass through a sieve. It had wonderful flavor and texture, smooth, sweet but not saccharine, intense chestnut taste. Perfect.

don’t go there
I’m so puzzled by this expensive can of gross bland paste. do some people actually like this, or did i somehow get a bad can when canned goods tend to be pretty consistent? I got it to make a chestnut custard layer in a pie. I tried a little when I opened it and both my friend and I thought it tasted like cardboard or saw dust, but somehow thought that it may “come alive” with the sugar and other ingredients in the recipe so ahead ahead with it regardless. it didn’t and I had to throw it away.

Good dessert filling
When I get the fresh chestnut, a lot of time they are mostly rotten when I got them open. With this product, it saves my nails and no more rotten chestnut.

After taste
This was not good. It did not have the consistency and flavor of the chestnut puree I grew up on in Europe, ended up throwing it away. I had better luck with the "Hero chestnut puree"Will not buy again.
