Perfect
Perfect pole for any and everything, I use exclusively inshore saltwater fishing and have no complaints so far. Light af, super sensitive, good cast distance, just feels good in your hand and have a special pop to it when casting I haven't felt often with other poles. I have caught everything on this pole paired with a Diawa excelor 3000 reel.

Decent rod for the money
I bought this as a finesse rod. Decent action and sensitivity but I can feel the difference in weight in my hand between this rod and my St.Croix. That being said it was less than half the cost of my St.Croix so I can’t complain.Update: so I lost this rod/reel overboard and recovered it a week later which was awesome. This is still a great spinning rod with one terrible negative. The hook keeper placement catches the line one me in about 1 in every 5 casts if I am not paying specific attention to when I release the line on the cast. For the love of all things holy why would you put this on the same side of the rod on a spinning setup? Put it on the backside at a minimum or on the blank between the grip and the butt!

I'm impressed
I have never cared for Ugly Stick. Heavy, unbalanced, felt cheap... but this one took me by surprise. First impressions are opposite to what I have listed. I paired it with a 2000 size reel and 6lb fluorocarbon line and it will cast a rapala F3 as far as my 4lb test ultralight does. I'm excited to get this thing to the river and get into some smallmouth as that's what I picked the 6'10" ML rod for finesse lures. I will update after a couple trips with it, but so far it's impressive.Update- Now that this rod has seen a couple dozen smallmouth, I have decided that I will probably get the 7'3 medium model for some bigger lures. This rod is awesome and a 12 inch smallmouth is a fun fight with it, but the medium light is not going to handle larger topwater lures as I expected, but a great finesse rod for sure.

Great Rod
As with all Ugly Stiks they can take a beating without failing, I will be getting another.

Poor Quality Control, Poor Balance, Reel Seat 15 degrees off
For the first time I tried an Ugly Stik rod purchase and I opted for one of their best offerings. Disappointed. In a 7', Medium-action length and with a 3000 sized reel, the rod tip is heavy. The balance point in the picture may look 'close enough' but it is not a good balance for jig fishing of any type, which is a popular reason to purchase a spinning rod. Furthermore, the first eye (largest) was about 15 degrees rotated counterclockwise and that led to a strange misalignment. After some simple tests in the home, I could tell the sensitivity was not phenomenal by any stretch. With an MSRP of 79.99 I think this is a poor value. I really don't see any redeeming qualities, the more I contemplate it while writing this review. Also, the packaging from this supplier was awful. The rod was just sitting in a plastic bag.
