Powerful Pelonis 20 inch box fan
I recently picked up this new Pelonis 20 inch box fan from Amazon. My previous box fan was a Lasko model that had been purchased many years ago. The Lasko box fan served me well over a long period of time, however the motor was pretty much shot after so many years of usage.I live in the California high desert and in the summertime it gets very hot at my elevation of 2,500 feet. A 20 inch box fan works better for cooling than the smaller sized portable fans that I have. This Pelonis fan provides more air circulation than a standard 20 inch box fan which I find very useful for my exercise routines inside the house. All I have for home cooling is a swamp cooler which is not as effective as an air conditioner. This Pelonis fan is quiet on the low setting and at this setting it's suitable for nighttime bedroom use. The high setting is loud and so is the medium setting. Considering the above average cooling power that this fan provides, it's understandable why the motor would be a bit noisy on the higher settings. There is no carry handle on this Pelonis model, and the control knob is mounted to the frontal area of the fan. My last Lasko box fan had a handle and speed controls mounted on the top, which is standard for most box fans. The reason this Pelonis model has no handle is so that it can be placed for a window installation. This also explains why the control knob is mounted in the front. I went over the instructions and they say do not use the fan for widow installations due to problems with rain, so in the instructions they contradict themselves considering the fan was engineered for window installations.A standard economy 20 inch box fan will usually run about $20 dollars, however this Pelonis box fan is considerably more than that in purchase price. In the hot desert climate that I live in it was a wise decision to spend the extra money for a box fan that has a more powerful motor and greater cooling capacity than the other economy box fan models that are in the $20 dollar price range.

Best priced & one of the highest cfm
Strongest box fan with 2295 cfm , just as powerful as the expensive whole house window fans . My house window fan stopped working after 14 years , not wanting to spend nearly @ least $200 to replace it I researched a lot of different fans & found this one to be the strongest cfm @ the best price . I ordered the used damaged box one @ the reduced price & was so impressed I ordered two more ! The only draw back is it does not have a reversible motor for exhaust so I just turned it around ( not a difficult thing to do ) . Yes it is all plastic but so are all the rest now . It fits perfect in the window & stays put tight when I pull the window down to meet the top of the fan . I have an old 3 story house & put one on every floor on exhaust & it keeps the house nice & cool without having to run the AC .

Loud
This is not a bedroom fan, it's simply too loud. I can't tell the difference between this and the big box store version that's half the price.

Spend the extra money and BUY THIS FAN...
I have purchased the $20 box fans from Wal-Mart several times over the years (Lasko, Mainstays, Hamilton). While they did serve their purpose they never moved a lot of air, were cheaply built, and eventually burned out after a couple of years. The PELONIS is so much better! I have it on low and it is quieter and moves more air than the other brands on high. The quality of construction is also quite noticeable with PELONIS being much better. I have no doubt that the PELONIS fan will last but will update my review if something happens.

Highly recommend
This fan is wonderful!!! It blows very cool air and I haven’t had it any higher than the low setting. It makes a little bit of a fan noise so not completely silent but I need the fan sound to sleep so it’s perfect! Well worth the price!!!!

Love the noise!!!
I love this fan. I keep it in my room for the sound and it is perfect. It also has really good circulation and cools down the room really fast. If you like to sleep with a fan on just for the noise this is the one to get.

WORTHLESS AND THE COMPANY WON'T HELP
I bought these fans because they were supposed to be quieter than other box fans and I needed something quieter than the one I bought for $20. They are NOT quieter.I have purchased Pelonis products in the past and always found them to have high quality products, so I didn't pay for he extra insurance, because the fans had a 1 year warranty. Forty-two days after I placed my order we are in the living room and one of the fan's plastic blades shatters, sending plastic shards everywhere. We were very fortunate we didn't get hit. It was incredibly dangerous. It was 12 days past Amazon's return window, so I had to contact Pelonis. They asked if I had registered the product, I said I had to tried, but the computer wouldn't let me because the fans don't have a serial number, just a mode number, She didn't believe me, so I had to send her pictures of every side of the fan. She could see, no serial number. So she submitted a ticket and I had to submit pictures of the broken fan, the model number plate, and my invoice, no problem except I sent 2 hours dealing with this, but okay, she was supposed to be getting me an exchange. Later in the day I get an email that I have to send the fan to Pennsylvania so they can see it first. It is a BOX FAN. It also states I have 7 days for it to arrive or my warranty will be void. The price for me to send a box fans with expedited shipping to Pennsylvania will cost as much as I paid for it. I called and talked to a different lady who understood my frustration. She had me send in more pictures and said she was just going to get me a refund. That night my credit card said it was processing a refund, but the next morning it was gone. I called back in and another lady said that the computer wouldn't allow the refund to go through and it was sent up to the escalation team and I should hear back from them in 24 to 48 hours. Here I am 4 days later and I've heard nothing, on top of which I'm a little concerned to run the other fan because what if it shoots plastic shards all across the room at us???So, long story short, the fan may be dangerous and the customer service at Pelonis is horrible!
