It’s easy to hear dialogue and also lyrics on YouTube
I love it! Easy to hear dialog ;I don’t need a huge boom box sound that shakes the room. I have a bigger Zvox in my living room but this smaller Zvox is simple and does the job great;also it pairs pairs well with my Amazon Firestick . I get all my controls on one remote.I have been a songwriter and singer professionally most my life (hearing lyrics is especially important to me. I recommend this. It’s simple and I think older folks will like it too.

Big Improvement
We have a 42” Samsung flat screen TV and changing from the TV’s speakers to this sound bar has made a huge difference in the clearness of the sound, particularly the dialogue. It is not the least expensive sound bar out there, but for us the compact size and the sound quality was worth it. The only issue we had was that the unit has an Auto On/Off mode, and the Auto mode caused the speaker to come on by itself at night. I contacted the seller and received a quick response explaining how to change it to the Manual On/Off mode, and now it works perfectly. We used the optical audio cable that came with the sound bar and connected the it directly to our Comcast cable box. It is critical to turn the sound off on the TV. Our TV’s settings allowed us to select “External Speakers” which turns off the TV’s internal speakers. The improvement in voice clarity with this sound bar was remarkable!

Compact, Easy to Install, Seems to Make a Difference
I have two Samsung flat-screen TVs and find dialogue very difficult to understand on both. Initially, I thought it was just my age (73) and poor hearing but after researching the problem online, I found that flat screens suffer from a couple of problems relative to sound quality.1. The speakers that will actually fit into the thin cross section of a flat screen TV just can't have the cone or magnet size needed for decent sound quality/clarity.2. Most flat screen TV speakers face backward (usually toward a wall) or downward. This is not ideal for projecting clear sound. My assumption is that the TV makers either assume that purchasers will add a wall-of-sound system or surround sound system or just don't want the added expense of a decent sound system. Regardless, it seems a universal problem for flat screen TVs.Finally reaching my wits end, I began searching for a solution to the garbled dialogue problem. There are a lot of options (headphones, table-top speakers, surround sound giants, etc.). None of these seemed practical for me and then I came across the ZVOX line of speakers that claim to be specifically designed to offer improved dialogue clarity. There are a number of different models (read-->price points), and physical sizes.I really didn't want to clutter up the table the TVs sit on, so I decided to give the smallest model a try. The offer of a 30 return policy was a plus in the decision although Amazon has always been good about returns. For $99.99 it was worth a try.I received the unit in only a few days. The box was actually smaller than I was expecting as was the actual speaker. Installation consisted of plugging in the provided power adapter and then plugging in the provided Optical cable to the back of my TV and back of the speaker. Installation instructions were both brief and clear. With the speaker installed, I turned on my TV. I had previously "cut the cable" and streamed everything through my Fire-stick. I was a bit concerned about having a remote for the fire stick and now another remote for the ZVOX. There didn't appear to be any way to have the fire stick remote control the speaker options. As suggested in the instructions, I turned my TV volume to zero and then pressed the power button on the ZVOX remote. Sound came out of the ZVOX speaker. It did sound different from my TV speakers. I adjusted the volume to a decent level picked a show that is usually difficult to understand and then began pressing the AccuVoice button on the ZVOX remote. I was pleased that with each push on the button the sound sounded different. The best description is that the sound begins with a decent amount of bass and with each press of the button becomes a bit more treble-forward. There are six AccuVoice setting and the final (6th) position is quite treble-forward. Not unlike a cheap table-top radio from the 60s. That may sound like a criticism, but it is not. After spending over a year listening to muffled flat-screen speakers, a tinny, but clear, sound was a welcomed change. So, what do I think?1. The device does project clear sound toward the viewer which makes understanding much easier.2. If you are looking for a surround sound system to capture all the room shattering sounds from Star Wars, then this is not the unit for you. It is marketed as a device to deliver clear audio, particularly dialogue. It does exactly that. The larger ZVOX systems may provide more "big" sound if that is your preference. I just wanted to be able to watch a British sitcom and be able to understand what they were saying. The basic ZVOX does that for me.3. If you want a full (i.e. bassey) audio then this device is probably not needed, but will provide decent bass in the AccuVoice number 1 position.4. Negatives? Only one so far is that I have to store another remote on my crowded night stand. Wish the ZVOX remote could control my TV (fire stick) or the fire stick could control the ZVOX.Finally, will I be returning the device? Well, no. Actually I plan to order a second unit for the other TV.As far as durability goes, I'll just have to see. ZVOX does offer a longer warranty if you register your unit. I plan to do that.

Fabulous
This device cost about half the price of the TV to which it's attached, but the difference in sound quality is amazing. It's like night-and-day. Nicely packaged and presented, most surprisingly the setup was a breeze and actually proceded as described in the manual, taking only a minute or so. Easy to use, a great buy.

No EQ/controls AV120 UPDATE
I miss knobs, buttons, and numbers. Seems even this highly rated soundbar can't have a simple display telling you what's going on with volume, surround sound, anything. ONE LED flashes different colors, and sequences leaving you to guess where its at.I have an eighty dollar 10" guitar amp with three EQ knobs, volume, reverb knobs and eighty effect channels with a display telling which one. So ALL these soundbars are all super over priced.PRO: AV120 is quite small, lightweight, easy to set up, most important much better and louder than TV speakers.CONS: AV120 has no EQ and sounds a bit "hissy", I'd love to trim off some of that high end. Silly single LED flashes to let you know you're using the remote... NO DISPLAY. Also, seems to turn on by itself looking to connect to blue tooth? UPDATE;My wife can't stand the "tin can" high pitched tones. I am returning after much evaluation. Sad that I might plug my TV into my cheap guitar amp to have more control over tone. EVEN those costing X3 $ do not just have control, we all must accept someone elses idea of what sounds right.

Boost the Voice Channel When It Cannot Be Heard!
My wife is gradually losing her hearing. We ordered this unit hoping it would boost television speech instead of boosting background noise or music that can muddle her hearing. Amazingly it works very well! When a commercial comes on with loud music, it immediately lowers the loud music channel and turns up the speaking channel. Commercials are much easier to hear and understand. Regular programming is drastically improved and even the crowd noise of a football game is automatically lowered behind the voices of announcers. We were shocked it worked so well. No complaints here. We are now considering getting two more devices for the other TVs in the house.

Not worth your money
I purchased the speaker in February 2025 and it worked well at first but as of April 2025 it no longer works to help with hearing voices and it is not worth the money. Unfortunately the return period is over so I have no other options than to trash it
