Getting yourself familiar with interpreting laboratory values can help you complete your tasks easily. The other wants to make something clear this book is not a magic wand that gives instant knowledge without any work. You will get in-depth knowledge of the full spectrum of lab test used today. You have to apply take notes and read it several times. You can learn to take the results you get from completing your test from random numbers and turn it into functional concepts. For reading this book I was able to take my test results and look it down and intuitive multi-dimensional approach to assessing multiple lab tests and integrating them into something I can understand and use. I really enjoyed the sections that spoke about vitamins and Trace elements and drugs and toxins. Very useful information.

This was an interesting read. I was able to get through it and understand it unlike some of the reviews on here said. This book really goes all in depth about tests preformed while one is in the hospital or anything like that. It has 14 different chapters regarding the different systems in our bodies and the testing done to them. It shows what tests are popularly done. It shows what will be sampled and the technique to do so. It also goes in to show that the normal levels are for each type of testing.

I gave this book 4 stars because it was a great reference for my class. This book helps you to understand the basics of the blood samples collected. It walks you through collecting samples and the testing each sample is used for. It is a great reference and very useful for students. Even when I graduate next year I will continue to refer to this text to build my personal knowledge of sampling. I loved that the writer made the information simple and not overly complicated. This helped me very much because sometimes it can be confusing and over explained. Not this book it was straight to the point. I recommend this book and think it will also be one of the books you can keep to help throughout your career. Trust me this book is much needed on in your personal library!

Have you ever had tests run at the doctor's office or a hospital and not quite understood what the results meant? Sometimes doctor's would just like to tell you that everything is fine and not tell you that your levels are borderline low/high. This can give you lots of information on things to look for and can forwarn you so you can get ahead of any oncoming issues.
