Cute but looks kinda cheap
It's cute but the controller specifically looks really cheap. It works but doesn't feel like it's super well made or that it will last very long.

Impossible to replace batteries without breaking it.
First of all, my son loves this toy. It was all he wanted for Christmas a year and a half ago. I hadn't seen him playing with it for a while, but today he brought it to us with the remote and asked us to replace the batteries. Ok, no big deal... the remote batteries were fine, but the batteries in the snake were another story altogether. The head needs to be removed by unscrewing 2 tiny Phillips head screws. They were in so tightly, I couldn't make them budge. I searched through some questions and reviews for any other tips. One person recommended removing the 4 triangle-headed screws with a flathead screwdriver. This was also a no-go. My last recourse was to pry the head off forcefully, breaking several plastic pieces which secured the head to the body. I knew this would do permanent damage, but I saw no alternative. Snakey now has a permanent neck brace made of duct tape. My 6 year old doesn't seem to mind--his snake slithers on command again and he's having a blast terrorizing the cats. I'm disgusted that I had to destroy this thing to replace the batteries. If they hadn't screwed it together so well, or had made a normal battery compartment, this wouldn't have been necessary. I also could have easily injured myself in the process of breaking this toy. I strongly recommend caution if you wind up going the route I did.

Great toy for a special-needs child
My special-needs child usually doesn’t like playing with toys, but he absolutely loves this toy and he can play with it all on his own. I highly recommend this.

Declining performance
Bought this for my grandboys and, also, my cat to play with. It started out great but performance has gradually declined after a month of use. The wheels that move it around are not gripping the way they should. It also doesn't seem to be connecting well with the remote control. I was about to return it but discovered I missed the return deadline by one day...ugh.
