Keeps my guitars and my office in a good range
Bought this to humidify an approx 12x12 bedroom used as my home office and my guitar sanctuary. I live in DRY Las Vegas, and my acoustic guitars suffer considerable damage rather quickly if not humidified. Since I like to see them and play them rather than keep them in their cases, I bought this humidifier to keep the room around 50% humidity.PROSRather quiet, like less than when the AC comes on.Uses water at a very reasonable rate, affected mostly by how often the AC is pumping dry air into the room, and how often the door is opened and closed.Super easy to refill. It’s such a cool little magic trick of physics that you turn the containers upside down and they stop draining out when the bottom fills with water. With water conditioner, the filters last a reasonable amount of time.Price is definitely a plus. There are some really expensive humidifiers out there, and some really loud ones. This is a nicely priced pile of plastic. They’re making a killing off these, and I’m fine with it cuz it works well.CONSThe ceiling fan has to remain on all day/night or the room dries out. My humidistat is at eye level and this unit is on the floor. It will shut off at its 50% setting, but the humidistat shows it’s down to 35% a few feet higher. It would be awesome to have a remote humidistat option connected to the unit. When the filters clog up with sediment and hard crud, the system doesn’t humidify anymore, so you gotta keep an eye on your humidistat, or be super proactive in replacing the filters. The “on” light flickers constantly. Might just be the one I got.The humidity setting is super finicky. The room gets up to 68%, so I turn it down a bit and an hour later it’s 42%. I think I found the right setting finally but it has taken a while.

Gets the job done
I've had 3 of these for the past 3 years, all running now and they work great to fight off the ridiculous humidity drops in these parts. They usually evaporate one 2-gallon jug per day, which is a pretty good rate. I do miss their predecessor, which pushed water across the wick, but I understand why they don't do that anymore since it adds so many extra failure points especially with hard water.

Works much better than ultrasonic humidifiers
We have noticed a much better efficiency of this over our old ultrasonic humidifier. It is super easy to clean and the filters are easy to deal with. They do get expensive to replace, but beats having white dust all over the place. You can get a longer life out of them by soaking them in a water vinegar mixture when they start to get some buildup on them. It does take some practice to get the angle right to fill the tanks at a faster pace. The tanks do you have some weight when full, which I like for the capacity it has. I have not problem moving and placing them into the unit, but someone with some restrictions may have some trouble.

Great price point and quality
The Vornado Evap40 4-Gallon Evaporative Humidifier has been a game-changer in my home. With its impressive 4-gallon capacity, it keeps the air in our living space comfortably humidified, especially during dry winter months. The design is sleek, and the unit is easy to operate. It does a fantastic job distributing moisture evenly, so we no longer wake up with dry skin or scratchy throats. Plus, the low maintenance and energy efficiency of this humidifier are a significant bonus. If you're looking for a reliable and effective way to improve indoor air quality, I highly recommend the Vornado Evap40!

Quiet, reliable, works well with an ink bird controller
This is a simple evaporative error cooler with a large water capacity, and a nice quiet fan.I have had no problems with leaking, or anything else, really it's such a simple device The main issues I could see with it would be placing it in an area that it would get bumped and spilling some water, or getting a damaged unit with a crack somewhere that leaks.I purchased an extra set of wicks when I bought this about a year ago, but even with the extremely hard water I am putting into it, I have not needed the replacements yet

humidifier
This works ok. Once you find humidity level on the dial by trial and error. ( its not labled in percentages) Filling the tanks is a challenge because of the way you have to hold them (sideways) and you have to hit the fill hole just right or big mess. The humidifier is then gravity fed to the filters. I can see this as a problem if you don't make sure the tanks are installed exactly right you could end up with water all over the floor. Bottom line it works with some patience.

Reliable humidifier and easy to use.
I originally purchased a Levoit humidifier prior to the Vornado. The humidistat in the Levoit was not accurate. The Vornado was very simple to set up and use. It uses regular tap water, has two filters, three speed fan, and is easy to assemble without the need for much cleaning. You just replace the filters when they begin to harden and not absorb water. It runs quiet on low and medium speeds but is a little louder on high speed. I use a separate room humidifier sensor to know when to change the speed on the humidifier. I would highly recommend this unit.

Bye cool mist and bacteria
I did a lot of research for a humidifier. I’ve had plenty of cool mist ultrasonic ones. They always get really gross and super slimy. Come to find out you breathe that in! So i go on the hunt for a new humidifier, find this guy. It’s great! I only use purified water. I clean the plastic bits every time i refill the giant tanks. The wicks i clean every two weeks in vinegar and they cone out looking and working brand new.
