Multiple uses
This oil drain plug washer is also the same crush washer used on the PCV valve picture between the alternator and power steering pump of my 2006 Honda Accord 2.4 l. When you hold the washer, there is a beveled or rounded edge and a flatter edge, the proper way to install is the flat faced surface needs to face the engine block. Well either way works I like to do it this way. Generally both are torqued to 26 foot lbs. Works as it should I also use just a dab of "blue" loctite on the threads. - Pack of Oil Crush Washers/Drain Plug Gaskets Compatible with Honda - Compatible with OEM 94109-14000 - Fits Civic, Accord, CR-V/CRV, Pilot, Odyssey and More - by Mission Automotive

Crush? Isn't that a soda?
Growing up we didn't have no crush washers... What kinda sissy crap is that? We had a copper washer, if that, and we liked it. We didn't care. We had a sharp spout that we pierced the top of an oil can with. We were on the grass behind the shed changing that oil. We borrowed dads tools. We lost dads tools in the grass. I digress. Changing the oil on the wife's car is a thankless job.She says:"It didn't run bad before..""It doesn't run better now.."But deep down, I know. I know what the lack of a dump and fill can do to these fragile engines. Routine maintenance is the only defense I have to keep these vehicles in working order. Did I ask for this? Hell no. I don't have a lift and a huge garage to work in. I have a driveway. The Sun, the rain, the cold, the heat. That's my back on the pavement, not hers, squeezing under that road-rat, and trying to keep her out of the hands of my trusted mechanic. These crush washers do one job, and they do it correctly. When I reached out, they were there for me and I will always be thankful. Change your fluids people. Get out there and do it.

Replacement to OEM
I complete my own oil changes and I have been using these oil crush washers for all of my 2 Honda and 2 Acura vehicles for several years now. They washers work just as well as the Honda OEM part and do not leak - always change the crush washer when doing an oil change!

Needs increase in quality control
Folks, nobody wants to pay OEM prices for a washer. I bought this many years ago, have around 7 left. 2 out of the 20 were incorrectly cut, leaving unevenness and one side incredibly thin. This caused me to have a tiny oil leak at the drain plug. Luckily I caught it and the leak wasn't huge. Two lessons to learn here.1. Look closely at the washer before installing, it's easier to see if it's uneven by sitting it over the bolt vs looking directly at the washer on the table.2. Maybe just pay extra and get OEM to avoid problems like these. Yikes.
