TimexExpedition Scout Men's 40 mm Watch

A truly GREAT watch - at a fantastic price for the quality.
I love this watch - it has a really good heavy feel to it, and it feels like a much more expensive watch than it is. A decidedly different quality from the retail shop fashion watch I had bought - which cost £25 and lasted 2 months.I was worried this watch would look too large on my wrist (which is very small) but it doesn't; it looks the size of an average mans watch. The face is really clear, the cream colour has real depth, the matt black surround feels really substantial, and the matt black hands and numbers show up really clearly. The calendar lens with the date is quite small - I have to look carefully to see what it says. But the rest of it is so beautiful I will happily put up with that., The night light system is fantastic - I can even work out the time without my glasses on when I cannot see the numbers at all. The leather strap has an oiled leather look to it, and so far has proven to be very substantial, despite having been in the washing up water a few times. The strap is also malleable and very easy to wear. This is definitely not the Timex of my childhood, which had put me off them - I thought - forever. A really good buy, which has been commented on favourably many times,

Perfect everyday watch.
I have a small watch collection, including an Apple and a few more expensive ones. So I was looking for an inexpensive watch that I didn’t have to worry about when I’m doing gardening and other projects. At the same time, I wanted one that didn’t feel plasticky and unsatisfying to wear.I’m glad to recommend that the Timex Expedition fits the bill perfectly. Nicely weighted brass case (which feels substantial and much more expensive than it is), and a very crisp dial, I’m happy to wear it on any occasion. My wrist is about 19-20cm and the leather strap supplied fits me perfectly. With numerous colours to choose from, you can’t go wrong for a no nonsense but handsome daily watch.

Really good watch , but if you're sensitive to loud ticking stay away
This watch is really good , it ticks nicely , keeps time well , and has a really solid casing. It feels like it's been put together well and doesn't rattle at all. Even the mineral glass on it is alot more scratch resistant than my Swatch irony and my vostok komanderskie ( given that one uses acrylic ). The straps that come with it are comfy , but i prefer to use leather straps on it as it's a classy looking watch and I already own a diver for a sporty look. All this is good ;however, this watch has one thing that maybe a no no to some people . It basically ticks really loud and it can be audible in a quiet room . I live in a dorm and if the watch isn't in a box I can hear it tick , which can get annoying if you're trying to sleep .If you really want the watch for the time keeping and durability , then get it and get yourself a watch box or something that can dampen it's noise at night so you can sleep in peace. For its price , few watches compete with such quality or have a long heritage like Timex does. As a result , if you appreciate watches and want it for yourself or a gift , this is the perfect watch as a daily beater or a friendly gift gesture.UPDATE :I recently bought it NATO straps , and the ticking sound somehow dissapered . It might be the fsbric padding stopping the watch from making loud ticks. So , it's an easy fix it seems.

Great watch, Timex never lets me down
Timeless Timex. Pretty much since being taught to tell the time I've worn a Timex except for a few years in the 80's wearing a Casio databank, who didn't in those days.Clear easy to read watch even with my failing eyes and no readers the hands are very easily legible.Would I buy one again? Of course, value for money, durability and even able to see the time with its built in light without looking at your phone when you're bursting for your 3am pee. Old age comes to us all if we're lucky enough.

A proper 'Ronseal' watch. Does what it says on the tin, and does it well.
I have been looking for a watch like this one for a while now. One of the things that occurred to me when looking at the watches I have bought in the past is that they are looking less and less like a watch and more and more like a supercomputer that can track pressure (not very well), temperature (not very well), where north is (not very well) but actually have no numbers on them and tell the time (not very well). Indeed most watches don't have 1-12 on them. So when you are being active (rowing, sailing, running etc.) or even just driving and want a quick look at the time, this watch is superb in having 1-12 (and 13-24 for those that can't add up) in nice big numbers. The face is exceptionally easy to read, the hands easy to see, the second hand picked out nicely in orange. The bonus of showing the date helps. What I wasn't expecting however, because I didn't read the description carefully enough, was the indiglo night-light which is activated with a simple touch of the crown. This is such a blindingly obviously sensible way of adding a light without having to have another button, I am amazed that I haven't seen it on watches before. However all of the above would make for a 5 star rating, but the piece de resistance is the comfort. I put this watch on and actually went to bed and forgot I had it on, and woke up and forgot I had it on. The strap is very comfortable and the watch weighs next to nothing so it truly doesn't impact on your comfort. I think Timex have got this 100% perfect.
