Amazing
This book is beyond gorgeous!! Well written from what I can tell so far and every single illustration is beautiful. There are a few really really nice full page art pieces but even all of the smaller details are perfect. Can’t wait to really dive into this!

The whole story
In researching ancient earth history I see that myths have more truth to them than we've realized. But mythology is my Achille's elbow and this book is helping me learn a lot. I've only started it and it looks like an ocean voyage to the land of understanding the truth.

An excellent introduction to Greek/Roman and Norse mythology.
The Good:This is an excellent book that tells the stories of the the Greco-Roman gods and goddesses as well as the immortals of Norwegian lore. The prose is well-written and very understandable.I first read Edith Hamilton's "Mythology" well over 50 years ago and the anniversary edition is superior to the original in many ways. The illustrations are very nice and the overall quality of the book is outstanding. If you want a good understanding of mythology, this is an excellent place to start! The Not So Good:Good news is there was little to criticize. Previous reviewers mentioned poorly sequenced pages (none found by me), inadequate packaging resulting in crunched cover corners (relatively minor but present on my edition) and finger prints and smears on an otherwise beautiful dust jacket (unfortunately, obvious on my copy).I hope that Amazon or the publisher considers offering pristine dust jackets to verified purchasers but won't hold my breath.Even with the above criticisms, Edith Hamilton's 75th Anniversary edition of "Mythology" deserves 5 stars.

oldie but a goodie
I think I first read this in 5th grade (nearly 60 years ago) and had forgotten how readable it is. It's also well divided, so it's easy to find the story you want. I am happy to be reaquainted. I also recommend The Greek Way by Hamilton. It is a bit more scholarly, and it brings the 'big names' of Greek history to life.
