Fireangel ST-622Q 10 Year Thermally Enhanced Optical Smoke Alarm, Multi-Colour

This is a good alarm, they are the ones fitted by London Fire Brigade if they come round to do a free fire survey... my first one was fitted by them a few years back, I bought and fitted this one because I didn’t want to wait for an appointment with LFB for them to do it again after the battery failed early... the way I see it is if the biggest Fire Service in the UK Uses them, they must be good... I’ve only given it 3/5 for the battery because mine failed well before the 10 year guaranteed life span, probably about 5-6 years... again I had no paperwork to pursue a warranty claim so ended up just buying this as a replacement, at £10 it’s worth the money, even if the battery doesn’t last 10 years as in my case... lastly I almost never get false alarms when cooking or doing toast like I did with my old alarms...

This product stated it would last 10 years. If lasted less than 2. I paid for the more expensive product thinking I would have it for 10 years. It cost me more in the long run. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Yes it is easy to install but so are every other smoke alarm. It is not reliable because it stopped working so quick. That is false advertising.

Good price, used to replace out of date alarm. This is an optical alarm rather than an ionisation alarm so unlike the one it replaced it doesn't go off every time you use the toaster or Airfryer!

Purchased this unit in June 2021 (with 10 year battery life expectancey), to replace a similar FireAngel smoke alarm which had reached end of life. Most dissapointed when after just 2.5 years (Dec 2023) having followed cleaning and testing directions, the alarm kept on going off for no reason. Having read reviews about this occuring and poor response from FireAngel Safety Technology Ltd., I was not expecting a swift or positive respone/service, but not the case.I do not normally post reviews but considering other reports regarding similar issues on this occassion felt I would.When I called the support centre on 28th Dec 2023, they were most helpful, checked the unit was still in warranty (which clearly it was) and asked me to send an e-mail with product details, proof of purchase and delivery address for a replacement, which I did the same day. The following morning I had an e-mail to say that a replacement was being sent by Royal Mail within 5-7 working days, but due to holidays this may take a little longer. I was pleased to recieve the replacement this morning which considering it being over a holiday period was excellent.Thank you FireAngel for such a good and positive response to the issue I had.JBA

Had this for a little over 3 years, only ever went off when burning toast. (Which it’s apparently not meant to do)2.30am Sunday morning the alarm sounded. Sheer panic, got kids up and out, all distraught, only to find no smoke and no fire, nothing!Turned the alarm off and all went back to bed. Half hour later it happened again! Turned it off again and this just kept happening over and over. I had no option but to disconnect the battery.I contacted fireangel by email and they said because I took it apart it voided the warranty! Seriously, what was I supposed to do, just leave it going continuously until I was able to speak to someone over a day later and what would they have said to do?! ‘Pack it up with the alarm sounding continuously and send it back to us’, yeah right.It was cleaned regularly, no bugs inside etc. this is just a faulty alarm and fireangel won’t honour their 10 year guarantee. I will never buy one of their products again. They rely on the 10 year guarantee to get people to buy it thinking they’re covered for this period but that’s not the case, they don’t care.Terrible customer service and faulty products, shameful.
