Gentle on skin and worth the price
Unlike other scrubs I have used in the past, this one is pretty gentle on the skin and does the work it's supposed to. I guess JVR might just be my new favorite brand. This one also comes with a little spatula that makes applying so very easy. It's totally worth the price.

Effective but not stripping
The scrub was was better than expected, effective, not to gritty,it was used pre straight razor shave, so my shave was smooth and effortless.cost is inline with similarproducts and a little goes long way.

It’s good, could be better
Just finished my first container so I’ll share my thoughts from a guy’s perspective. For context I’ve been using the Tiege facial system for a year now (I like it a lot) and I wanted to see if I could find a comparable substitute for their face scrub. Enter JVR’s face scrub. Right off the bat I will say the consistency is that of mud or wet clay, so if you are expecting something like a lotion or serum you’ve been warned. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing it just comes to preference. I do my face wash routine in the shower, not at the sink so it worked fine for me. The only reason I removed one star is because the actual exfoliating mechanism they use is not sufficient. For a product advertised as an exfoliant the material they use is far too sparse and coarse. It would be much better if it were smaller grain and more plentiful because the only way I was able to make it actually exfoliate was to pair it with a silicone face scrubber which I highly recommend. Using it with the face scrubber gave much better results. I’ll go over exactly how I used it, from an in-shower perspective:- with face damp from the shower, pinch about a thumbnail’s worth out of the container and apply it to your forehead and cheeks. Apply it like someone would a clay mask or something.- take the (wet) silicone face scrubber and massage it into your whole face until it starts to feel a bit tingly (usually about 30 seconds). I keep a short beard and I do include the bearded part of my face since it still reaches my skin. If you’re a guy who keeps a longer beard it may not work on the bearded portion of your face and that’s OK because you probably have a whole different routine for that anyway.- once it begins to feel tingly stop massaging and let it rest for another 30 seconds or so to let the caffein portion do its job on your skin.- after that just rinse thoroughly, it will rinse off just like mud would.- after you’re rinsed your pores will be wide open so I would wash your face last right before you get out of the shower. If you use a toner then this is the ideal time to use that while your pores are wide open, so apply your toner after you’ve padded your face dry.- also important to remember this is another reason to keep clean towels (meaning change them out every 2-3 showers at least), because wiping your face dry with soiled towels is a great way to have the opposite effect of keeping your open pores clean.- if you don’t care about a toner and you just use a moisturizer or nothing else at all you’re pretty much donePersonally I will not be buying this product again unless they change the exfoliant material, but if you’re not using any exfoliant at all right now this is a good place to start. I think Tiege’s is superior but that’s just me. Whether you’re a young guy just trying to combat acne or an older guy trying to combat lines this will work fine for you until you dial into something better. Don’t forget to invest in a silicone face scrubber they are awesome regardless of your routine. Still gets 4 stars from me. Hope this helped.

Worked better than anticipated
Best scrub I've ever used. I had a bump growing on face cheek probably from sun exposure over my life. It was small but I could pick it every now and then, but it would never budge. I opted to purchasing some scrubs in the hopes I can scrub it off. Well I tried many different scrubs (some expensive natural sugar scrubs and some more rock salty). None worked. When I tell you this scrub removed it on the first application, I was completely shocked. I didn't even expect anything. I applied it, let it set for maybe 30 seconds and then washed it off. The bump was gone. I have a slight blemish on the skin from the bump I had but the bump itself is gone. I still keep touching the spot on my cheek expecting it to grow back, but it hasn't. Obviously very pleased with the results. And for a guy, this leaves a decent smell afterwards.

It's ok but not the best
Decent face scrub but not as effective as I thought it would be. I had assumed there would be small particles but instead there are much larger ground up particles for face scrub so I don't feel it is fully doing its job. The smell is great though and it does wash clean away. Maybe just not enough for me

Rough on my face but works. RS2 Reviews
RS2 Review here. This product is good, but I can't use it every day. It is a great exfoliate. So the roughness is too much for my face. Nonetheless, it seems to remove oils from my skin and clean my skin..just wish it wasn't so rough; but then again, the roughness would be great on other areas of the body perhaps.Give it a try.
