Too soon to tell if it's having any effect on water quality, if at all.Returned the first one as the indicator light on the end of the unit didn't light up.The second one is the same. Water goes through and there is definitely power to the unit but the light as shown in the instructions does not light up to show the unit is working.Edit 31/12/23After 3 months of use this seems to be doing nothing for my tank. Very disapointing for a Fluval product. Also there doesn't seem to be a replacement lamp available yet so I can't even replace that to see if that fixes the problem.

This has been a replacement to my old UV clarifier which was a lot bigger but slightly undersized for my tank which is 500 odd litres including the sump, freshwater mostly American cichlids. My old one ran with a 15W bulb while this runs at only 6W. I was sceptical that this would be enough but while my old setup needed some cleaning with small amounts of green algae growing, with this one I don't have any. All this along with it being much easier to have a tidy install with it being smaller and the bulb last longer before needing replaced, although costs more.I do have to qualify that my tank is also not positioned in direct sunlight and I have have controlled lighting that isn't too bright. All in all a great setup and I'm very happy with this device, I'd defintaley recommend it.One star off as the first device i was sent didn't work but I returned it and got another very easily.

After watching a few YouTube reviews I decided to take the plunge and purchase this product. I didn't consider the water in my 360 litre Discus tank to be cloudy or green but I went ahead any way and made the purchase.After just two days I'm really pleased with how crystal clear the water in my aquarium is. My Discus are looking great.Well done Fluval, it's five stars from me.

After reading the reviews, I thought this was the one that was going to help clear the water in my fish tank. Not long after, the second day I installed it, the algae started to grow, and now my fish tank's glass is green and all the plants are covered by black algae. So answer to your questions, don't waste your money.

Added this to the new fx6 and found that when installed on the lid there is slight vibration. Unconvinced that the uv is suitable for such a powerful filter.Set up though was easy and comes with a lot of other bits for different applications

bought this 1 month ago and within 3 weeks of fitting the bulb is flashing which fluval say is a faulty unit .i really like fluval stuff but this is rubbish .
