Very colorful and easy for my 17 month old to use. What height to drop ratio makes them snap in half? Unknown, my toddler has dropped several and only a few have snapped (this doesn't bother me or my toddler haha, this is the reality of chalk).I will say, storing the chalk in the "just the right size" box is a nightmare once they've all been taken out and some are broken. But I just pile them in whichever way they mostly fit - wish the box had a little more room and a longer ribbon handle.
