Doesn't last and doesn't work. (Four sensors - none good)
Great idea. Very motivational when it works.. That's the good news. The bad news. They aren't reliable and you may not be able to tell when they are spewing worthless/misleading readings.I bought this to track my progress at lowering blood glucose and learning about what spikes look like for me and wht causes them. I have a backup meter that I use that requires the finger-prick blood sample and I wanted a more continuous view.I had four of these devices.First one. Worked well for ten days. I periodically verified the reading with the hand-held meter and they agreed within normal parameters. But again, died on day 10.Second one. This came in a two-pack so I attempted to apply the second one. This one had a mechanical defect and would not apply.I wrote to Amazon and a replacement box was send about a week later.Third one. Worked well for 7 days and then just stopped. During that time the readings seemed to match my hand-held meter.Fourth one. I applied it and the readings were wrong from the beginning. I kept verifying, hoping that it would wake up but gave up 2 days later when it started giving such ridiculously low numbers that I contacted Stelo customer service. What a waste of time. I spent over 40 minutes giving details, after which they had me fill out forms to complain with the same data that I already gave them. Then I was informed that there would be a review process that would take days to determine if I was even eligible for replacements.I have an Android phone so I don't know how many other options I have but this is clearly not a solution.I highly recommend that you go someplace else until you stop seeing reviews like this!

Set your expectations to a correct level and you will like it
For me it is a first experience with CGM. Before buying Stelo I watched several review and how-to videos, so by the time device arrived I felt pretty familiar and knowledgeable about it. Installation and activation were very easy, the sensor paired without any problems with my Samsung Galaxy A16 Android phone and within 15 minutes it started to give me glucose level readings. As an exploratory tool for a non-diabetic or at least for someone who wasn't officially diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, this is an ideal way to learn more about your body and how it reacts to various foods and other factors, such as sleep, exercise etc. But, take the results you get from Stelo with a grain of salt. I compared its readings with my old blood glucose monitor Freestyle Light and Stelo gave me a value which was 8 points less, e.g. 120 vs. 128 that I got by actually sampling my blood. This is probably why prescription devices, like Freestyle Libre, or Dexcom G7 designed for use by diabetics, require calibration before the initial use. Still, I'm pretty pleased with Stelo, since it allowed me to understand how my blood sugar changes overtime. I discovered that it is pretty stable, that is good, I guess, but could be a tad less, something that I'll need to work on using keto diet and intermittent fasting as my main tools to lower blood glucose level.

Only works half the time
This is the first time I've used a CGM and Stelo. It's a great tool when it works....but it only works half the time. The first day of the first sensor was completely inaccurate. The readings were all over the place - over 250 and under 70 within a couple of hours all day. If that was what my blood sugar was really doing, then I would have felt sick and that was not the case. Day 2-8 readings were accurate, showing gentle ups and downs as is normal depending on meals, exercise, etc. About 10:00 pm on day 8, I received a message that the sensor session ended early and I would have to replace the sensor. In essence, I only got 7 days worth of readings on a 14 day sensor. For $50 per sensor, that is a very poor value. In addition, throughout the entire time I wore the sensor, the sensor would experience "Brief Sensor Issue" messages, which meant the sensor was not registering readings. This would happen about 8-10 times per day. 'm older and have thin, crepey skin on the back of my arm. When taking off the sensor, I had to be very careful that I didn't tear my skin. The adhesive is very sticky and it was difficult to remove. I do have the second sensor so I'll give it another try but so far I don't think it's a good value for the price.

Excellent Device so far! (With more experience, I knocked it down a star.)
My first stelo worked fine for the full 15 days. It looked like that it was on a timer and would have lasted longer. Anyway, the readings verified with my normal meter. So, I was very happy with it and I learned a lot about my body that I didn’t know! My second stelo lasted the full 15 days. Between the two, I learned a lot about my body and eating habits. The third stelo went on ok, but about 10 minutes later, I had a slow drip of blood running down my arm. So, we removed it and one week later, I am trying the fourth. My wife and I changed to 8-16. I lost about 15 pounds within a month. Also, I changed to a carnivore type meal plan based on Gary Brecka. I am 76. I agree with others that this is too expensive for them to fail. If the fourth one works for 15 days, I will continue with using them. Otherwise, I will go back to pricking my fingers. The needles have gotten much smaller and doesn't require as much blood as it used to. However, I am beginning to love the continuous monitoring which costs for me about the same as finger pricks. I hope the failure rate is very small.
