Mostly plastic parts
They seem to work fine and are fairly bright, but the juries out because everything is plastic; the lock the trigger everything..

Amazing Light for a small price and comes in a small package.
I am thinking this Dynamo light is made from Alien Technology and here's why. I received my first order about 3pm in the afternoon. I pulled one of the lights from the shipping box and then removed it from the packaging. I examined it and it has three LED's as advertised. The body of the dynamo is made from a clear smoky plastic and you can see the mechanism from both sides. It looks and feels well made. It is light and fits the hand well. There are two switches: one near the top edge where the LED's are and the other near the bottom edge on the opposite side. The on/off switch is the top switch and the other switch is the release for the squeeze handle that you use to actuate the charging mechanism. I turned the light switch on and the light came on and the LED's were bright enough you didn't want to shine them in your eyes? This is unusual because normally you would expect a capacitor inside the dynamo or rechargeable batteries. After a short time, the capacitor bleeds its charge, at least this has been my experience using a dynamo light and working with electronics for 38 years. Also, if there is a rechargeable battery in the unit, the battery will discharge completely and if you don't charge them a bit, the battery will die. However, nothing in the advertisement states it uses a battery or capacitor. To use, you initially squeeze the charge handle very gently and then use the locking switch to unlock the handle. You then release the handle and It will then open fully so you can begin the simple and easy charging action. Once finished charging, you squeeze the handle fully closed and then use the switch to lock the handle securely.Since it was all ready charged I turned the light off and I just activated the handle a couple of times which was very easy to use. Now for the actual use of the dynamo. I turned on the light and sat it next to my chair in my living room to test how long it would stay lighted. It stayed lit until that night. I walked around the dark house and walked into several rooms that were pitch black and I could see everything in the rooms I checked it in. I walked back into the living room and placed it back on the table next to my chair. It stayed on until I finally turned it off and went to bed very early in the next morning. When I awoke, I turned the switch on and it lit up, a little dimmer but that could be because it was full day light. I can't speak to how long it will stay lit because it would not quit when I tested it. That was amazing. I wasn't smoking anything funny or taking anything to make me hallucinate! In my initial inspection, I didn't see a miniature nuclear power cell, a high density capacitor, an Anti-Matter power storage unit, a Zero Point Module or a place to store any rechargeable batteries. This light is too small to hold anything like that and the advertisement says nothing about batteries. Like I said in my opening statement: Alien Technology. I recommend this Dynamo light for those who want something better than a flashlight that you have to plug in to charge or replace the batteries and worry if you forget about the batteries and then find they had leaked and corroded your flashlight when you need them in an emergency. This dynamo is worth the very reasonable small price you will pay and I believe it will be ready when you need it. Even weeks after I purchased these Dynamos, they are still charged as I first received them, without me having to do anything, even the one I first tested. The cost is so reasonable you can keep one in every room for when the lights go out. The size makes them good for your car, bug out bag, hunting gear, camping gear, or anywhere else you might need a reliable light that takes up very little space. In addition I recommend them as a gift item for those you feel could use an emergency light that will be there for when they might need them.

Cheaply made
For starters, the on/off button & the dynamo release button are installed cockeyed. The lens bezel & the body don't line up right. Lots of rattling of parts inside & a dim light. This is simply not well made. The quality is that of a 99 cent store flashlight. However, it is very lightweight, I've not seen it lose its power despite being left on overnight, & the clear body makes a nice teaching tool to explain dynamos to children.

Cannot go wrong
I recommend this flashlight for everybody on a budget and all preppers.1st this was cheap, less than $5.00 and shipping was free, and you didn't have to spend $25.00 for the free shipping. It requires no batteries, no worrying if the battery will die out, and it is not solar powered, no wondering if you got it charged enough to last the night. It is hand cranked, when the light gets weak, just cranked it up again, and again, and again. It is light and compact and the light strength is strong.I would not drop it on anything hard, it is a quality product for the price, but like everything if you trash it around it will break, treat it with care and respect, it will get the job done. It is not the Porsche of flashlights, it is like a Geo Metro 60mpg and trouble free. Nobody likes them, but when the price of gas goes high, their value shines, ditto this light, when the shtf and there is no batteries to be had, and the sun don't shine, this light should. Also because it doesn't use batteries, you don't have to worry about acid leaks.5 stars.

Great light!
This hand powered flashlight is great. We used them during several power outages and were easy to use. With a few cranks the light lasted for about an hour and were still on when the light came back on. I gave one to my two year old and she used it. She dropped it a few times and it did not break. The plastic is a not real strong though so I'm sure over time it could break. I ordered several of them just incase that happpend. My family uses several other types of lights but these are nice cause you can put it in your pocket and it doesn't hurt to crank. Only a couple cranks is all you need.

Works, but not very bright
Although this light lets me see enough to not trip over things in my house, it is nearly useless outside. I remember it being brighter when I bought it, but it seems to be getting dimmer in the only 6 months I've owned it. I wonder if this is a storage problem? When I crank it, it lights up brighter than when I turn it on. It sometimes catches when I try to crank it, making me think the gears are starting to wear already and will soon break. It's probably worth it to spend a little extra money to get something of better quality.
