Q: Are these assemblies skinnier than stock? Trying to put 22" rims on a 2001 Monte Carlo and was having problems with clearance on strut plates of stock

These were exactly the same dimensions of my original struts.

Q: will this work with factory 16" rims

works great fit right easy install

this will solve the sagging rear end problem associated with impalas. they are the police/taxi ones and work great, ride is still smooth, but the springs are stiffer and hold up the rear of the car better. These are cheaper than the bare strut and a strut bushing.

Broke

One of the studs on the upper mount broke when I was installing it on my car. They are supposed to support the weight of your car and if I can break it with a ratchet I don't want it on my car. The thought of what could have happened if I was able to install it without breaking it scares me.
